Mr. Davis received his Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers School of Law, Camden, New Jersey, and holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. His focus at the University of Pennsylvania was Criminal and Juvenile Justice. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication/Journalism from Illinois State University.

Licensed to practice in the State courts of Florida and in the Federal Florida court in the Middle District of Florida, Mr. Davis' related memberships include the Florida Bar, Sarasota County Bar and the Rutgers Law School Alumni Association. He is a policy issuing agent of Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund, Incorporated for all real estate matters, commercial and residential.

In April of 2001, Mr. Davis was appointed by the City of Sanford, Florida, City Commission to serve as a Commissioner of the Sanford Housing Authority. In May 2001, Mr. Davis was elected the Chairman of the Sanford Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. In January 2002, after achieving positive results from his involvement with the Board, including helping to secure an Executive Director, Mr. Davis received the Certificate of Meritorious Service Award from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for his exemplary service as Board Chairman. Mr. Davis resigned from the Board to devote his full attention to the Law Offices of Joseph Haynes Davis, P.A.

Mr. Davis also holds a Masters of Social Work; with a focus on criminal and juvenile justice from the University of Pennsylvania. His social work practicum was served at the Juvenile Law Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he counseled adolescent clients represented by the Law Center, and at the Youth Development Center, Bensalem, Pennsylvania (a maximum security institution for male offenders).

Mr. Davis served as law clerk to the Honorable James M. DeLeon, Circuit Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There he gained experience with both criminal and civil matters. Since 2008 Mr. Davis has been appointed to serve as an exemption/classification special magistrate by Orange County, Florida. In 2009 Mr. Davis was appointed to serve as an an exemption/classification special magistrate by Manatee County, Florida.

The Law Offices of Joesph Haynes Davis, P.A. has been court appointmented in the areas of Probate, Guardianship and Mental Health for Orange County and for the 9th Judicial Circuit since March of 2002, in Criminal matters since 2009. The Law Offices of Joesph Haynes Davis, P.A. was similarly court appointed to the 12th Judicial Circuit in the areas of Probate, Guardianship and Mental Health and Criminal matters since 2008.

Mr. Davis has a distinguished entertainment, communication and radio broadcast history, with a quarter of a century of broadcast excellence. Formerly with Cox Radio Incorporated at WCFB-FM, "Star 94.5", Orlando, Florida, he has also held broadcast management positions with KRNB-FM Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas where he was Program Director, and WXPN-FM Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (National Public Radio from the campus of the University of Pennsylvania) where he was a member of the Policy Board. His resume of successful radio stations includes WGLT-FM, Normal, Illinois (National Public Radio from the campus of Illinois State University) KMJM, St. Louis, Missouri, WYLD-AM/FM, New Orleans, Louisiana, WUSL-FM, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, WDAS-FM, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and WVEE-FM, Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Davis is a past winner of the Assistant Program Director/Music Director of the Year by Billboard R&B Monitor radio trade publication and was the recipient of Illinois State University's prestigious Outstanding Graduate in Communication award from the Department of Communications. He is also half brother to the late jazz trumpet music icon, Miles Davis.
